1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Good Mews Studio's ("we", "our", "us") website and photography services. By making a booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully before booking. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our services.

2. Services

Good Mews Studio offers the following photography services:

• Headshot Photography: Professional headshots for actors and performers
• Reel Production: Video reel creation and editing services (charged per hour)
• Self-Tape Services: Self-tape recording and guidance (charged per hour)

Full service descriptions, pricing and session durations are available on our website and will be confirmed at the time of booking.

3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Booking Process

To make a booking, you must complete our online booking form and pay the full session fee upfront. Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received and you receive a booking confirmation email.

3.2 Payment

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept major debit and credit cards. Payment is required in full at the time of booking. Prices are stated in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.

3.3 Pricing

• Headshot sessions: £200
• Reel production: £100 per hour
• Self-tape services: £50 per hour

Prices are subject to change. The price applicable to your booking is the price displayed at the time you complete your booking.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

4.1 Cancellation and Rescheduling by Client

To cancel or reschedule your session, you must provide written notice via email to hello@goodmews.studio with sufficient notice (minimum 48 hours before your scheduled session time).

Rescheduling is subject to studio availability and at our discretion. Your first rescheduling request will be accommodated free of charge, provided you give at least 48 hours' notice. Subsequent rescheduling requests may incur a discretionary fee.

Cancellation and rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours' notice may be declined, and payment may be forfeited at the studio's discretion.

4.2 Cancellation by Good Mews Studio

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule sessions due to illness, equipment failure, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will offer you a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

4.3 No-Shows

If you fail to attend your booked session without prior notice, no refund will be given and the session will be considered forfeit.

5. Copyright and Image Licensing

5.1 Copyright Ownership

Good Mews Studio retains full copyright and intellectual property rights in all photographs, videos, and creative works produced during your session. This is in accordance with the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Copyright means we own the images and have the exclusive right to reproduce, publish, and license them. You are granted a licence to use the images as set out below.

5.2 Usage Licence Granted to Client

Upon receipt of full payment, you are granted a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use the final edited images for the following purposes:

• Professional promotion and portfolio purposes (Spotlight, agents, casting directors)
• Personal and professional social media profiles
• Printed promotional materials (comp cards, business cards, flyers)
• Personal website and online portfolios
• Showreel and demo reel inclusion
• Audition and casting submissions

5.3 Usage Restrictions

You are NOT permitted to:

• Sell, licence, or sublicense the images to third parties
• Use images for commercial advertising or editorial purposes without prior written permission
• Claim copyright or ownership of the images
• Alter, edit, or manipulate images in a way that materially changes the original work without permission
• Use images in any way that is defamatory, pornographic, or unlawful
• Remove or obscure any watermarks or copyright notices

5.4 Credit and Attribution

While not mandatory, we greatly appreciate credit when you use your images online. Please credit as "📸 Good Mews Studio" or tag @goodmewsstudio on social media where possible.

5.5 Our Usage Rights

We reserve the right to use images from your session for our own promotional purposes, including but not limited to:

• Website portfolio and galleries
• Social media promotion
• Marketing materials and advertisements
• Photography competitions and publications

If you do not wish for your images to be used for promotional purposes, please inform us in writing before your session. This will not affect the service provided.

5.6 Image Delivery and Formats

Final edited images will be delivered digitally in high-resolution JPEG format via secure download link within 7-14 days of your session. Raw files and unedited images are not included and will not be provided.

5.7 Image Retention

We retain copies of your images for a minimum of 3 months after delivery. After this period, images may be deleted without notice. We are not responsible for storing your images long-term – please ensure you download and backup your images promptly upon delivery.

6. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Arrive on time for your booked session
• Provide accurate contact and booking information
• Follow any preparation guidelines provided before your session
• Behave in a professional and respectful manner
• Comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

7. Studio Conduct and Safety

We maintain a professional, safe, and inclusive studio environment. We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour. We reserve the right to terminate any session immediately without refund if these standards are breached.

Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the session.

8. Liability and Indemnity

8.1 Our Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any loss or damage arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the session.

8.2 Equipment and Personal Property

We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal property brought to the studio. Please ensure you adequately insure valuable items.

8.3 Technical Issues

While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee against equipment failure, data loss, or other technical issues. In the unlikely event that images are lost or corrupted, we will offer a free reshoot where possible, but this is our only obligation.

9. Data Protection

We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection laws. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details.

10. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, war, pandemic, government restrictions, or failure of third-party services.

11. Amendments

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

Terms in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Good Mews Studio regarding the use of our services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
